a little bit about us

The Cat House Rescue is a small group of foster homes in the Bradford area. Founded in July 2021, we have gone onto build a small but dedicated foster team, saving 50-100 cats off the streets each year.

Featured Residents

These are just 2 of our current residents looking for homes. We have more!

Take a look at our full adoption page to see all the cats looking for homes. The cats are in individual foster homes and visits are arranged by appointment directly with the fosterer once your adoption application has been approved.

Your Partner in Cat Adoption

We know that adopting a cat is a huge decision and a lifelong commitment. Not to mention the initial costs of covering the basics like neutering, vaccinations and microchipping are expensive. That’s why we subsidise the costs for you, covering the basic vet treatments your cat needs and providing all the essentials as part of the adoption package.

Neutered/ Spayed

All cats are neutered/ spayed before they go up for adoption. In the case of kittens who are too young to undergo an operation, they will be adopted with a contract stating they must be taken back to our vets to be neutered/ spayed by 4 months old, paid for by the rescue.

Fully Vaccinated, Health Checked

All our cats are fully vaccinated which covers them for the first year. They have also been health checked by our vets. Any health issues will be stated on their descriptions and vet records are given to all families and can be requested before adoption.

Microchipped & Flea & Worm Free

All cats are microchipped and registered through Pet Trac with no additional registration cost to you.

Cats are all treated for fleas and worms and up to date with treatments when they leave.

4 Weeks Free Insurance

Cats adopted from us will be covered for 4 weeks with insurance from Pet Plan while you decide which insurance provider to use. We are also able to offer you 10% off your first year with Pet Plan.

“I was lucky to adopt my gorgeous panther sisters Ruby & Georgia from you (I haven’t changed their names). They are such crazy, adorable cats. They both love treat sticks, feather toys and springs to play with. My only issue is finding all the springs again! Georgia loves to sit on my desk when i’m working from home and Ruby will sit at the side of my chair. They love to sit in their cat tree and watch the world go by. They have certainly changed my life for the better 🙂Thanks to you and your fosters (particularly Liz) for giving all the cats a chance at a happy safe life xx”

“So far Billy has been with us an entire week. We gave him the full name of Billy Goatee Mistofelees as he is definitely a conjuring cat, likes to hide away but also miraculously appear when you don’t even expect it! He is settling in very well, has bravely explored all rooms in the house, used his litter box, and warmed up to us. He has truly become our family and pet child. Helped my husband and I bond as we take care and spoil him. Even though we have only had him a short period of time, we appreciate the love and joy that he brings to our lives. As he continues to acclimate and fully settle in we hope to get him a pal later on. We appreciate that he was fostered in a healthy and loving environment provided by The Cat House Rescue which in turn got him ready for his forever home”

“Former resident Richard, now Bruno has really come on in the last 18 months. Spent the first 3 months under the back bed, still very nervous at times but can be very affectionate when he wants to be. He loves sitting outside in his garden and trying his best to make friends with the cat next door. He is always hungry and is the loudest, chattiest cat I’ve ever met. Loves chin tickles and will go on forever. Still won’t let me pick him up but I’m persevering- much to his disgust!”

Because every cat deserves a chance

Here at The Cat House Rescue we believe every cat deserves a chance. We have a strict no euthanasia policy. The only time we put a cat to sleep is when they are terminally ill and their illness has got to the point they are suffering and the best thing we can do for them is to help them go in peace.

How to Introduce Cats to Each Other

Introducing a new cat to existing cats requires structure, not guesswork. Many long-term behaviour issues begin in the first few days, when introductions move too quickly and cats don’t have time to feel secure.
This article explains how cat introductions actually work and how to approach them in a way that supports calm, long-term coexistence for every cat in the home.
