What we do

Four things, and only the first is what most people picture when they think of a cat rescue.

Rescue and re-homing

We take stray and abandoned cats into foster homes, get them well, and find them families.

Cats looking for homes

Trap, neuter, return

For the cats who cannot live indoors, we trap, neuter and return them so colonies stop growing.

Our TNR work

Neutering support

Low cost neutering for cat owners on a low income in Ravenscliffe and Thorpe Edge.

Why neutering matters

Advice and education

Free help for owners, so cats stay with the families who love them rather than coming into rescue.

Cats looking for homes

Every cat lives in an individual foster home, so we get to know them properly before they meet you.

  1. Send us an adoption application.
  2. We approve your application and match you with a cat.
  3. Visit them at their foster home, by appointment with the fosterer.

Letters from their new homes

Ruby and Georgia curled up together at home

I was lucky to adopt my gorgeous panther sisters Ruby and Georgia from you. They love treat sticks, feather toys and springs, and my only issue is finding all the springs again. They have certainly changed my life for the better.

Billy being fussed by his new family

Billy has settled in very well and has truly become our family. We appreciate that he was fostered in a healthy and loving environment by The Cat House Rescue, which got him ready for his forever home.

Bruno stretched out at home

Former resident Richard, now Bruno, has really come on in the last 18 months. He spent the first three months under the back bed and is still nervous at times, but he loves his garden, chin tickles, and is the chattiest cat I have ever met.

If you shop online, this costs you absolutely nothing. Sign up to easyfundraising once, pick us as your cause, and a percentage of what you already spend comes to us instead of staying with the retailer. Thousands of shops take part and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway.

It is the easiest thing on this page, and over a year it adds up to real vet bills paid.
